Apparently the latest recommendation is to leave uECB at 36 no matter what uGrids is set to.Īfter going back and forth a few times it was obvious for my setup - uECB=36 would CTD every time I go outside, uECB=64 would never CTD even after several hours. I use uGridsToLoad=7, and had uECB set to 64 which was the previous recommendation for that uGrids value. THe LCHARs will then spawn creatures the first time you travel the distance. So say you travel back and forth whiterun - Rorikstad as a level 10 character. An exterior cell takes 31 days to reset it self (again, if you did not enter it). After some troubleshooting I tracked the issue to the "uExterior Cell Buffer". An interior dungeon cell or similar resets itself after 10 days (if you did not enter it). I have no idea what the cause is and it would be great if someone already knows the solution so I don't have to spend too much time trying to figure this out and can get back.

Obviously this was an issue, as I was getting 0 CTDs before, even during 8+ hour sessions. I reset the Backshields mod like the mod page said to do (I also did this on the other 2 tries) and went to an exterior cell, somehow it worked, loading fine with no CTD. Trying to load a save where I was already outside would CTD before anything even came up. You can try to use this mod Skyrim Save Cleaner because it has this feature: Cleaning up CELL data (not homes you own), which might be helpful for you. Update - Removed Glydenhul Barrow and White Ridge Barrow from the respawn list (both from Dragonborn DLC) it was causing spiders and ghosts to spawn next to the player after 30 days (or whatever your respawn timer is set too).
